Home #3

August 10, 2016

We're pretty fond of our new home – all 468 sq ft of it, especially the 14 ft ceilings.

We were happy to find an apartment in our price range that actually had a patio (they seem to be few and far between). There's no awning, so we'll have to figure that one out when the rainy season comes along, but so far it's been fun to have in this hot summer weather. Sipping on something cool late into the warm nights or hanging up the laundry to dry (again, I'll have to deal with that later).

The large window overlooking the patio and the big trees (that will soon be changing colors!) on our street, is definitely our favorite part of the apartment. It lets in so much light, even on a gloomy day. Being on the top floor has it's perks.

The modern style of this newly renovated building has been so much fun for me to furnish. I was a bit worried that my southwest, ranchy style – which tends to be warm with lots of wood tones – would be too dramatically opposite from the bones of where I was starting. I was happy to find that the greys and whites of the unfinished, open aesthetic of this apartment are actually a great foundation for my decor. (Well, at least, I think so.) I love the current trend of exposed piping and cement floors; it makes for such a fun challenge in adding color and decor to such a cold and naked base.

It's no secret that we love feeling like fancy city people in our swanky new digs. We're soaking up every minute of it and are so stoked to have the opportunity to spend a season in the Pearl.

Here's a peak into the corners of our little city home.

Happy Touring!
