As most of you know, I'm constantly rearranging the furniture and looking for new ways to spice up my living space. Lately, I've focused on letting go of things I don't love, don't need, or that don't fit in, no matter how practical they might be. I've found that this is the only way to create a consistent vibe in my home – also, its a good way to stay on the minimal end of the hoarding spectrum.
Creating a "look" or "feel" in the home doesn't come naturally for everyone, at least it didn't for me. But over these past two years of making a home for my party of two family, I've found my rhythm in a sense.
I'm immensely thankful for those of you who have given us so many of our belongs (I'm talkin to you Mama) and of course I couldn't have gotten anywhere without all the beloved thrift stores in my life. (From Oxnard to SLO – I've probably seen them all.)
Practically none of our stuff was bought full price, new, or even purchased at all for that matter. This has made building a home so easy and fun! And has kept our bank account in-tact. With that said, I'm entering into a stage in my life where I'm ready to invest a little bit. I've figured out my style (kind of) and I'm confident that the choices I make now, will carry over into the future (I hope). Haha it's still hard for me to jump into the "investing" stage.
Anyway, blah blah blah, I could talk for hours about treasure hunting, materials I specifically look for at thrift stores now, what's worth buying new, and what isn't – but I'll leave that for another day.
