It's a wonderful thing to be reunited with far away friends, and even more so when it's in a wonderful place like the Black Forest of Germany. We are fortunate to be living just an hour northeast of the village of Haiterbach where our good friends live. Of course we couldn't leave Germany without visiting with them for a weekend.
We had a lovely time hiking in the Black Forest (Schwarzwald) and having a fun adventure at the top of the hill (more to come on that later). I love seeing all the different types of greenery in this part of the world, some similar to our's back in California, others not so common. Lucky us to have our friend Robin along who is learned in the trees of his area, as he is part of the forestry service (or something like that haha).
We are so thankful for our friends all over the world. I definitely recommend making some foreign friends too since it's much more fun to travel with locals, plus you'll always have a place to stay. And of course you can return the favor when they head out west ;)
