Welcome to Texas

March 17, 2016

When you have a home you can tow around, there's endless opportunities of where you can live (as long as your rig can get you there). And also, you'll have to stay stateside because crossing large bodies of water is out of the question since most cars and rvs don't also act as boats – although, that would be awesome. Anyway, what I was getting at is that living on the road can lead to epic adventures, and in this case, the Great American kind.

My parents have been on the road as "full-timers" for about 4 months. They've parked in Morro Bay, Faria Beach, and Palm Springs, California, Congress, Arizona, Deming, New Mexico, and are currently situated in Georgetown, Texas just outside of Austin.

Road tripping across America has been a dream of Dad's and I'm stoked that my parents' boldness allowed for this dream to come true. Also, I don't mind the advantage of being able to visit them in all the unexplored places they will go.

This is the first place they've stayed long enough for me to visit, so, naturally, a surprise visit (well, attempted surprise) for Mama's birthday was in store.

So that's how I got here.

Us three sisters flew out from California. We got to explore historic Georgetown and wander the streets of trendy Austin. As well as drive through tornado warnings and torential rains – but we can talk about that later. Important thing is, we were all together for the first time in months and I was reminded that family is worth it all.

Happy Towing!
