I'd rather be in...

December 29, 2015

➝ Flagstaff, AZ

It's officially winter and I'm ready for some snow. Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate the fact that living on the central coast of California means I can get out and about every day of the year, but man oh man, would I really love some true winter weather right about now.

I'm very thankful to my parents who took my sisters and I on an annual trip into the Sierra Nevada's to experience the wonders and joys of winter growing up. We would rent a cabin and spend a week building snow forts (well, Dad did), rolling snow men, sledding, skiing (cross-country and downhill), and warming up with cider and coco every night. Those are some of my favorite memories from childhood. Now that I'm married and can think about my own kids I can see that it's a necessity for all children to grow up experiencing winter. Whether that means moving to the mountains or setting aside money and time to drive out there each year, I'll be sure to make it happen for my kiddos to come. Until then, David and I will just have to tap into our inner-child (which won't be too hard) and find some snow to romp ourselves.

We were blessed to enjoy a light snow on our day-trip to Flagstaff last month. I love the way the textures of the forest look covered in those icy flakes. So magical and romantic.

The weather here in Osos has been partly cloudy/ partly chilly. It will do for now, but, soon and very soon, the mountains will be calling again, and I don't thin I'll be able to say no.

Happy Snowing!
